Welcome to the 8th Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences 2022

The Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Macau (UM) is delighted to welcome you to our annual highlighted event: 8th Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences 2022 (MSBS2022).

This year, MSBS2022 is going to take place on 14th and 15th October 2022 at University Hall (N2). In response to the pandemics, this year’s MSBS2022 will take a format that combines both online (via ZOOM) and in-person elements, in order to allow participants from around the world to participate in the event. Participants who are unable to attend MSBS2022 in Macao are invited to join us on ZOOM.

The field of biomedical research is an exciting and ever-expanding area to explore. Our annual Macau Symposium on Biomedical Sciences aims to continue to gather talented and inspired scholars and professionals to foster discussions, knowledge sharing and potential collaborations. The theme of MSBS2022 is We Work Together, with topics on but not limited to Diagnostic Imaging and Drug Delivery, Cancer Immunology, Translational Trial/ Personalized Cancer Therapy, Cancer as a Systemic Disease, Tumour Microenvironment and Metastasis, Metabolism, Signaling Networks and Therapeutics, Developmental Induction, Single Cell Analysis, Stem Cells, Epigenetics, Infectious Diseases, Genome Editing, Reprograming, and New Technology.

In 2021, we were grateful to have gathered over 300 participants and scholars from different regions. Particularly, it was our pleasure to have Lieping CHEN, United Technologies Corporation Professor in Cancer Research and Professor of Immunobiology, of Dermatology and of Medicine (Medical Oncology); Co-Leader, Cancer Immunology, Yale Cancer Center presented at MSBS2021.

This year, we are very honoured to have Xiaodong Wang, Director and Investigator, NIBS, Beijing, China, Member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA, Foreign Member, Chinese Academy of Sciences as our keynote speaker. In addition, other renowned scientists, including Alex K. Shalek, Associate Professor of Chemistry, Institute for Medical Engineering & Science, Department of Chemistry, and Koch Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA; Xiang-Dong Fu, Distinguished Professor, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of California, USA; Weiping Zou, Professor of Pathology, Immunology, Biology, and Surgery, Director, Center of Excellence for Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy, University of Michigan, USA; and Wanjin Hong, Professor & Executive Director, Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB), Singapore will also be sharing their latest research in the coming MSBS2022.
